Magic ‘Bob Books’, now interactive

I believe there will be a day when all it will take to teach a child how to read and write is hand her a tablet with a set of well structured apps. I don’t want to get into a discussion whether this method would be better or worse compared to others, I just believe it will be possible and that we are not too far away from this day.
Take for instance iWriteWords — by the folks at GDI Plus – one of my all-time favorite apps, a brilliant application that actually teaches children how to trace letters.
Learning Touch is another one of the companies out there trailing this path and making it easier and easier for kids to become literate. They first have published my also long-time-favorite and eternal TOP 10 APP ‘First Words‘, where children learn the alphabet and first combinations for learning how to spell and read simple words.
Now Learning Touch brings the widely acknowledged Bob Books to the world of apps and interactivity. With ‘Bob Books #1 – Reading Magic’, the amazing method that has been helping to convert millions of toddlers into readers since the 70s, has now gained interactivity and sound, making it more fun and even easier the process of learning how to read by phonics.

I have been selected as part of a grant in my school district. There is a group of us who have been given an iPad and an iPod Touch to use with our students to help enhance learning. I am a special education teacher and believe this app would be of great benefit to enhance their love and want to learn for reading.
Are there any promo codes for this app? Even though I am one of the “chosen ones” to “play” with the iPad and iPod Touch, if we choose to purchase apps, the cost comes out of our pocket.
Thank you for your time.
I am the parent of two kids on the autism spectrum. My daughter has limited speech. She loves Bob’s Books! She likes that they are interactive. Her pronunciation and spelling have improved and it is a good way for both of my kids to interact with each other. I cannot recommend this app enough. I can’t wait to download Bob’s Books #2 for my Iphone.
