Great apps of the Week (Nov. 20)
Here is our weekly post on great apps definitely worth having a look.
Arky Arky (iPhone / Free)
Gorgeous illustrations, beautifully produced: “Help Noah load the Ark by arranging groups of animals in matching pairs. Earn special awards and fill your rainbow meter to unlock each of the 5 Rainbow Fun Facts. Hurry! A storm is coming.”
Color My Name (iPhone / 99¢)
An interesting coloring book for preschoolers starting to learn to write their own names. Not so much for the coloring tools (really well covered by several other apps) but for the name writing feature, a first.
Hurly-Burly! Full (iPhone / 99¢)
Really well-design farm apps are never too much to have. In this cute one, toddlers need to reunite correctly puppies with its parents. No text, all guided by voice with nice big buttons and reward stickers.
Mrs. Owl’s Learning Tree – A to Z (iPhone / $1.99)
Mrs. Owl is a great game for preschoolers starting to recognize words by the first letters. Reinforces teaching letters names, sounds and matching to words starting with that same letter.
Puss in Boots Childrens Interactive Storybook (iPad / $3.99)
A greatly illustrated classical ‘Puss in Boots’ story app, full of interactivity, sounds and surprises.
Teddy’s Day (iPad / $3.99)
A beautifully illustrated interactive book about a little girl’s curiosity regarding what her beloved teddy does when she’s away.

Color My Name is such a great app for kids, due to its ability to customize the app to the child…And kids love that! There’a slso great app review for parents to check out over at: http://www.iphoneandkids.com
